Kathleen and Her Work

Kathleen exhibits her watercolors at her gallery at 179 Bristol Road in Damariscotta, Maine.  She is also a member of the Bristol Road Galleries and the Pemaquid Art Gallery at Lighthouse Park in Pemaquid Point, Maine.

Her “Historic Maine "print series can be found here online and in shops along the coast of Maine. The series spotlights the historic villages and lighthouses that Maine is famous for.

After a fulfilling career as a secondary teacher and as a studio potter known for her porcelain artwork, Kathleen specialized in watercolors after retiring to Maine full time. She has studied with internationally known masters Alvaro Castagnet, Tony Couch, Tony Van Hasselt .and Evelyn Dunphy. Locally, she paints with Midcoast artist Jan Kilburn.

While her Maine Village and Lighthouse series represent a traditional style, Kathleen's other watercolors flow in a more impressionistic style.  The rocky coast’s fishing villages, cottage architecture, wildlife and lush gardens of the Midcoast region are favorite subjects in her watercolors.
